How Can we Improve our education System through Technology in Pakistan?
Technology has impacted almost every filed and education is no exception. To some, it might not look like something has changed in the teaching behaviors, the access that people have today and how it is much more convenient to get to any part of the world and have your desired degree. Also, the introduction of online courses has made it easy for many around the globe fulfill their wish to study from the top-notch institutes in the world. It is the technology that has allowed people to access lectures from different authors online and never even have to pay hefty amounts of money.
The classrooms might look the same where the professors deliver the lecture from the podium and the majority listens, some are busy talking to their mates, some are busy drawing and sleeping as the lecture seems boring to them but the change has been in small things. Books and notebooks have been replaced by laptops, students use laptops to note their lectures and diaries have been replaced by the online planners in the tablets, mobile phones, and laptops.
The knowledge, discovery of new laws and some historical revolution reach out to millions of the people in seconds. It is because of technology that scientists have been able to get an image of the black hole after years of research, formulation of new laws, algorithms, etc. It wouldn’t have been possible any other way and the instant spread of that image is due to the technology. It surely has made the spread of knowledge easier and quicker.
One couldn’t even dream of collaborating with someone sitting in some other state in the past but it has changed incredibly. The intellectual hunt knows no boundaries and one can work with anyone due to the communication channels available today. The research conducted is far better than in the past because of the creative freedom that one enjoys in this decade.
Traditionally, classrooms have been relatively isolated, and collaboration has been limited to other students in the same classroom or building. Today, technology enables forms of communication and collaboration undreamt of in the past. Students in a classroom in the rural U.S., for example, can learn about the Arctic by following the expedition of a team of scientists in the region, read scientists’ blog posting, view photos, e-mail questions to the scientists, and even talk live with the scientists via a videoconference.
It has also changed roles and students don’t have to get themselves enrolled in an institution to get the information from a Professor but they can get the information on their own using the mediums we have today. It is the fastest medium that one can find thousands of results from all over the world on a topic in just seconds, something that couldn’t even be dreamt of in the past. Technological is indeed powerful if used right and in the best possible way, it has the ability to transform the patterns for both at the receiving and giving end.
